Office Manager

I have worked with Dr. Castaneda and the rest of our team at Discover Dental Care since 2002. I assist our patients with their treatment planning and do my best to maximize their financial options so they can receive the treatment they need. I am always impressed to see how much Dr. Castaneda genuinely cares about his patients. Along with the rest of our team, he constantly educates himself on the newest techniques to give the highest quality of care. It is exciting to know that our wonderful team is helping to make positive changes in the lives of our patients.

I am originally from Joplin, MO, and currently live in Overland Park, KS. I have three children and eight wonderful, fun-loving grandchildren. In my free time I like to cook and play golf. When I am able, I also volunteer with the Boys and Girls Club and Catholic Charities.

Insurance Coordinator and Sedation Specialist

I have been with Discover Dental Care for over five years and have spent the last year working with sedation patients. It is extremely rewarding to be able to relieve the stress and anxiety of our patients as Dr. Castaneda provides them with new smiles and ideal oral health. One of the best parts of my day comes when I get to greet patients as they come into the office. Seeing our established patients and hearing about all the happenings with their families and activities, or meeting new patients for the first time, is very rewarding.

I have been married for 41 years. My husband, Jim, and I have four wonderful children, four grandsons, and two sons-in-law. My free time is spent reading, traveling, and working on our garden railroad.

I have been working for Dr. Castaneda since the very beginning at our first location in Westwood. It has always been a pleasure to work with him as we create beautiful smiles. I am bilingual, so I can assist all of our Spanish-speaking patients in understanding their dental health and care plan. I recently completed my nursing degree at the University of Kansas and enjoy sharing the knowledge I acquired with my patients in regards to the link between periodontal disease, heart disease, and diabetes. It is our goal at Discover Dental Care to incorporate our patients’ entire well-being into their dental health plan.

I am married with three sons who are all active in sports and school activities. I spend the little free time I have painting and making cakes for various events.

Dental Hygienist

As our dental hygienist at Discover Dental Care, it is my job not only to clean teeth, but also to provide preventive care and education to patients to promote optimal oral health. My favorite part of the day is interacting with our patients and getting to know each one individually. I love working with Dr. Castaneda because his extensive continuing education allows him and our team to give patients the highest quality of care. Our team is very close-knit and I consider myself lucky to have them as my dental family.

At home, I enjoy snuggling up with my husband and two dogs, Napoleon and Julius. My husband and I enjoy traveling, but in my free time, I love group exercise classes and baking.
